Now that the autumn is rolling around and the weather is getting cooler, you might not be enjoying some of the warmer weather activities you were before. Here are some ideas for activities for the autumn and winter!

Winter Sports
Winter sports are popular, especially in Vancouver during the colder seasons. Such winter sports include skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
If you don’t feel confident on skis or a snowboard, you can try snowshoeing. Snowshoeing is great fun, easy for beginners, and relatively low impact. Grouse, Cypress, Seymour and Whistler all have great areas to snowshoe with rentals available.
Skating is also a fun option available at some community centres and around the city during the winter season.

Many people opt for traveling during the colder seasons. You can try a warmer destination, like Central America or the Southern United States. Cruises are also popular because they offer convenience. You can also try a tour package, to save the hassle of planning a trip.

Get a Gym Membership
When the weather gets chilly, it becomes difficult to motivate yourself to go outside. Try getting a gym membership. With treadmills, machines, and weights, you can get a great workout without having to be outside.

Join a Dance class
Ever wanted to learn how to tango, waltz, or salsa? There are so many types of dance. Classes are available at community centres and dance studios.

Many food banks and organizations are looking for extra hands to help hand out hot meals during the autumn and winter season. You can look for volunteer opportunities here ( for the upcoming season. Volunteers are especially in demand during holiday times, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Book Club
Lots of people enjoy a great book during the cooler seasons. You can get your friends together to enjoy a novel, or simply join a book club at your local library or community centre.

Though the weather gets cooler, and the days become shorter, our activities can be just as enjoyable as the warmer seasons. Try a new winter activity – you might be surprised at how much fun it is!
