Looking to get out during the Winter months? Whether you’re looking for a short trip, or a place to settle for a few months out of the year, we’ve compiled a list of popular Canadian snowbird travel locations. Check them out!

1. Florida
The warmer, southern U.S. States are great for getting more sunshine, while still being relatively close to home. Florida with its warm weather and sunny beaches are definitely worth a visit during the wintertime. Some popular towns include Palm Springs, Daytona Beach, and Fort Lauderdale.

2. California
Sunny California, with beautiful beaches and snowcapped mountains. It’s no wonder California is one of the most popular destinations for snowbirds. Some popular places include the Coachella Valley, Palm Springs, LA, and San Diego. Being touted as being culturally similar BC, west-coast Canadians are said to integrate easily.

3. Arizona
Arizona is blessed has those great mild winters. Many retirees typically have settled in communities in and around Phoenix, Tuscan, Sedona, Sun Cities, Scottsdale, and Yuma. Arizona is also great place for golfing for those golf enthusiasts!

4. Hawaii
Hawaii is a sought-out destination for everyone. Snowbirds may find appeal on different islands, depending on their interests. Oahu, with most of Hawaii’s population, has a great city vibe. The Big Island, the largest island, is best known for its snorkeling, golf, and resorts. Maui, the second largest island, is popular for its resorts, beaches, and snorkeling. Kauai is known for its raw and natural tropical beauty.

5. Mexico
Mexico – a wonderfully cultural experience, that can be easy on the wallet, with warm weather. What more can you ask for? Popular locations in Mexico include Puerto Vallarta (for beaches and night life), Cabo San Lucas (for beaches and beautiful rock formations), Cancun (for beaches and nightlife), and Playa del Carmen (for its beaches).

6. Costa Rica
Costa Rica has been home to increasing number of American and Canadian expats over the years. For those that don’t mind adapting to a different culture or language, Costa Rica might be a great fit. Costa Rica has beautiful beaches, rainforest, and peaceful mountain communities. Your money can also go a long way in Costa Rica. Many Canadian snowbirds have settled in northern Pacific beach communities of Playa Hermosa, Flamingo, Tamarindo and Malpais.

7. Panama
Other Central American destination which is becoming increasingly popular is Panama. It’s rich in culture, has warm weather, and is very affordable. Some popular places to visit and settle include Panama City (the capital and urban vibe), Coiba (for it’s beaches, snorkeling, and fishing), and Colon (with great history, shopping, and beaches).
